Can you tell us a bit about your role within the team and what your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
I look after our HR Outsourced clients - my role is very broad, and each day looks different. It could be anything from performance management, employee relations issues or queries, creating policies and procedures, running culture interviews and providing recommendations, award interpretation, employee engagement and benefits, and anything and everything else "HR" that might come up!
How did you start your career in HR, and what led you to your current position?
I started my HR career in Admin and found my passion. I then studied with two young children to gain my HR qualification. I was then promoted several times, and after that explored a few organisations. I have landed in consulting by pure chance when I saw the ad on LinkedIn for Zest's very first employee. I love how things turn out!
What are the key skills you believe are necessary for success in your role, and how have you developed these over your career?
Being an open, honest, and supportive person with strong relationship and coaching skills. I have definitely developed over the years in my communications with people who are very different from each other different needs. I strongly believe communication is the biggest skill necessary for my role, or HR in general, and I strive to excel in this.
Can you share a professional achievement you are particularly proud of?
For me, it would definitely be studying whilst I had a 2.5 year old baby at home. I had such a passion for HR so I made it happen!
